Many people ask me, how do I start my home design?
Most people start with buying furniture or if you are getting into a new house they start with painting the walls.
So why not start with buying furniture or painting the walls?
Think about your house as a blank canvas. You don’t know which furniture will you choose or what is the color scheme that you want., so the right thing to do is start with an inspiration picture. That could be a picture of a design you like but it could also be a totally different picture like a beautiful landscape or even a beautiful abstract picture.
This picture will determine the style and the colors in your design. I do not recommend starting designing your home without having an inspiration picture. You will find it much easier to design your home once you have. Also, whenever you find an obstacle or you get stuck, you can relate to that picture again and it will guide you throughout the design.
Why not paint the walls first? Simply because looking at a wall color scheme in any store, you will find almost every color that you can desire, but that is not the case for everything else. It will be much easier to choose a rug and mutch a wall color then paint the walls and then try to mutch rug colors to your wall.
It would be wise to start with what we can find and we don’t have the most and natch that to wall colors that can be found in any color we need.
